From Melchers' work at the Crystal Palace Exhibition of 1851 to Yamasaki's Federal Science Pavilion at Seattle's Century 21 Exposition of 1962, the people and organizations of Detroit made an indelible imprint upon the 19th and 20th century World's Fair culture. Join author, photographer and architectural historian, Dale A. Carlson as he discusses the many World's Fairs to which Detroiters contributed. Carlson's presentation will be augmented by numerous historical images, newspaper clippings and professional photographs. His presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. For adults 18 and older.
