Looking for a new home for your gently used books, DVDs, audiobooks, or puzzles? Dearborn Heights Library is happy to collect these from you at both branches of the library, any time that is convenient for you (and we are open). Simply bring them up to the Circulation Desk for review.

We collect these items largely on behalf of the Friends of the Library, who work diligently to sort and curate them for sale back to fellow book lovers through our book store (Caroline Kennedy Library) and our semi-annual large book sales. Some donations are kept and added to our catalog for circulation (at the librarian's discretion).

Important: The Friends no longer accept donations of the following items:

Reader's Digest Condensed Books

Tables full of gently used older books, from the view of the fiction section.
Two young readers sitting on a bench outside of the book sale room.
Booksale workers smiling and having a good time arranging works in the humor section.

The Friends of the Library are a wonderful group of area residents dedicated to the cause of furthering literacy in the community. The Friends maintain the Bookstores at both locations, sort incoming materials and run book sales throughout the year. Any revenue collected goes towards programming, collections, and whatever services make the library a better place for everyone.
